We provide a complete framework for the development of processor-based SOC designs. The framework is centered around the LEON processor core and includes a large IP library, behavioural simulators, and related software development tools - all the necessary components to create high-quality and high-performance products. The design framework has been developed for dual use: for the development of critical space systems as well as cost-efficient consumer products. The stringent requirements for space systems gives a guarantee for quality and maturity of the framework, while requirements from cost-sensitive consumer products insures efficient and low-overhead implementations.
To support research and education, and to simplify evaluation, most of the design framework is provided freely in open-source and/or evaluation versions. This approach provides a large user base and valuable feedback from both the research community and commercial enterprise, allowing us to shorten the development cycle of new cores and tools.
