The GR765 is Frontgrade’s next generation radiationhardened fault-tolerant octa-core microprocessor.
The GR765 provides a bootstrap signal that determines at power-up if the device shall have eight LEON5FT SPARC V8 cores or eight NOEL-V RV64GCH cores. This allows one hardware design to take advantage of the strengths from both software ecosystems.
We provide GR765 evaluation designs for the AMD VCU118 FPGA board. These designs allow to evaluate the GR765 architecture before the real hardware becomes available. The FPGA designs can only fit a subset of the GR765 processor cores and peripherals and run at a reduced frequency compared to the final product. The choice between LEON5FT and NOEL-VFT processors is done using different FPGA designs.

The table below lists the primary FPGA design configuration. It is possible to generate adapted configurations that provide, via extension cards to the prototyping platform and FPGA design, access to interfaces such as SpaceWire and SpaceFibre.
