GR-CPCI-XC4V LEON Compact-PCI Development board

The GR-CPCI-XC4V board has been developed as a co-operation between Aeroflex Gaisler and Pender Electronic Design, to support the early development and fast prototyping of LEON designs. The board incorporates a Xilinx Virtex IV field programmable gate array, and is capable of operating stand-alone, as a Compact-PCI plug-in card, and as a Compact-PCI system controller.

GR-CPCI-XC4V board features:

  • Compact-PCI plug-in form factor
  • Virtex4 XC4VLX100_1513 BGA_FPGA
  • Option XC4VLX160 or LX200 FPGA
  • On-board FPGA configuration proms (6 x XC18V04)
  • 16 Mbyte FLASH prom (4M x 32)
  • 1 standard SO-DIMM socket for up to 256 Mbyte SDRAM
  • 1 Mbyte static ram (256K x 32) adapter option
  • Ethernet PHY 10/100 Mbit transeiver
  • 33/66 MHz, 32/64-bit CPCI interface (3V)
  • Standard RS-232 UART port for DSU
  • 120-pins memory and custom I/O expansion connectors (AMP-177-984-5)
  • JTAG and slave-serial FPGA programming capability
  • CPCI system controller (clock distribution & PCI arbitration)
  • Supports LEON3 core frequencies up to 80 MHz
  • LEON-FT compatible

To provide more I/O possibilities, additional I/O expansion boards have been developed.
