Connecting
Connection to targetsystems are created from the configurationdialog available from
Actions → Initialize... or the init-button.
This dialog allows to save configurations for later use.
Versions
GrmonRCP is available as a evaluation version and a professional version. The professional version will require
a GRMON pro license from Aeroflex Gaisler AB. The evaluation version is a restricted to evaluation.
Interfaces
All interfaces supported by GRMON are available. These are:
- Altera JTAG
- Ethernet
- GRESB
- JTAG
- PCI
- Serial
- USB
- Xilinx USB
- FTDI USB
Consult the GRMON and GRLIB manual for more information on these interfaces.
Altera JTAG
Connect to either a Altera USB Blaster or Byte Blaster cable.
- Cable
- Specifies which Altera JTAG cable to connect to. Defaults to -1 which specifies to connect automatically
if there is only one cable or give a list of all the cables found. Use that list to specify which cable
to use.
Ethernet
Connect using ethernet. Requires the EDCL core to be present in the target system.
- Target IP
- The target IP to connect to. Defaults to 192.168.0.51.
GRESB
Connect through the GRESB bridge. The target needs a SpW core with RMAP.
- Target IP
- Connect to the bridge using the IP address ipnum . Default is 192.168.0.51.
- Virtual link
- Virtual link to use on the bridge. Defaults is 0.
- Node address
-
- Source
- SNA - The SpW node address for the link used on the bridge. Defaults to 32.
- Dest.
- DNA - The destination node address of the target. Defaults to 254 (0xFE).
- Clock div.
- Divide the transmitter bit rate. Default is 0 which uses the current value.
JTAG
Connect to the JTAG Debug Link using Xilinx Parallel Cable III or IV.
PCI
Connect through PCI.
- PCI device
- Vendor and device id for the PCI target to connect to. Should be specified in hexadecimal, with
or without a leading 0x, as in 1234:5678.
Serial
Connect using a serial cable connect to the target debug UART.
- Device
- The device or COM-port to use for the interface. If not specified the first UART port is used.
This is /dev/ttyS0 on UNIX systems (incl. Cygwin) and com1 on Windows.
- Baudrate
- Set baudrate for the DSU serial link. By default, 115200 baud is used. Possible baud rates
are 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200, 230400, 460800. Rates above 115200 need special
UART hardware on both host and target.
USB
Connect to the USB debug link. Requires the USBDCL core to be present in the target.
Xilinx USB
Connect to the JTAG Debug Link using Xilinx Platform USB cable.
FTDI USB
Connect to the JTAG Debug Link that uses a FTDI chip. The FTDI
chip's PID has to be specified.
Other options
- User command module
- Load a user command module. See the GRMON manual for more information.
- No SRAM
- Disable SRAM and map SDRAM from address 0x40000000.
- UART Loopback
- Send the output from the target system to the console.
- LEON 2
- Force LEON2 legacy mode.
Extra options
Extra GRMON options can be specified. Consult the GRMON manual for more information.
